LAN Networking Between Windows 7 And Windows Xp

Now Today I Tell You That How To Connect Two Different Operating Systems In LAN Networking....

Follow My Steps Carefully

Go To Server Computer
  1. First Of All You Need Networking Cable
  2. In Server Computer(If it Contains Windows 7) Go to Network and Sharing Centre
  3. In This Go to the "Change Adapter Settings"
  4. Now Open The Properties Of Local Area Network
  5. Now Double Click On Internet Protocol (TCP/IP)
  6. Now Click On The "Use The Following Ip address
  7. Now Type 192.168.137.1
  8. Now Press Tab Button You can See That Subnet mask Contains 255.255.255.0
  9. Now Press Ok and Exit From Network Settings.
Now Go To The Client Computer

  1. Open Local Area Network Settings From(Start/Connect to/local area network)
  2. Open TCP/IP
  3. Now Select "Obtain An Ip Address Automatically" and Click Ok
  4. Now Go To My Computer
  5. Open My Network Places
  6. Now Select "Set up a home or small office network"
  7. After Clicking on it you can see the Dialog Box
  8. Click On Next Button
  9. Again Next
  10. Now You Can See The 3 options
  11. Click On The Second "This Computer Connects to The Internet through a residential gateway or through another computer on my network" and Press Next
  12. Name Your Network and press Next
  13. Now Type In Work Group Name : WORKGROUP   (without spaces and do not use any other name as you cannot able to connect with server computer)
  14. Click On Next And Turn on File and Printer Sharing and Then Press Next
  15. Your Network is Created.

Your Internet Also Shares On Client Computer
Congratulations!!

If You are Not able to access network then Follow The Instructions
  • Make Sure That Your Server Computer Is Not Connected With Hotspot Or Any other Ip Hider Address Software
  • Repair Your Local Area network From The Bottom Right Of Your Windows Screen From Local Area Network Icon in the support menu
If you want to check that the computers are connected successfully then
Go To Start Button And Open CMD(Command Prompt)
Type Ping 192.168.137.1 From Client Computer and Check if the replays are coming then you are successfully configured :)
